À propos de ce cours
This course delivers the complete Form 3 English Language programme as prescribed by Cameroon's Ministry of Secondary Education, following the official English Language Syllabus (Forms 3 & 4, December 2014) from the Inspectorate General of Education — Letters, Arts and Languages.
Form 3 English consolidates and extends the language skills acquired in earlier years across four core skill areas: Listening Comprehension, Speaking / Spoken English, Reading Comprehension, and Writing — supported by Grammar and Vocabulary Development. Content is organised around real-world domains of life that learners encounter daily: Health & Well-being, Environment, Economic Life & Occupations, Citizenship & Human Rights, and Media & Communication.
What you will learn:
🎧 Listening: Understand varied texts — stories, dialogues, interviews, talks — and extract specific and general information; infer meaning from context; recognise stress patterns and pronunciation.
🗣️ Speaking: Express ideas clearly and logically; participate in discussions, debates, dialogues, and impromptu speeches; respond appropriately in different social and formal situations.
📖 Reading: Read and comprehend passages of different types; identify main ideas, writer's attitude, facts vs opinions; interpret vocabulary in context; appreciate poetry and literary texts.
✍️ Writing: Plan and compose narrative, descriptive, and expository essays (200+ words); write formal and informal letters; develop coherent structure, accurate grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
📚 Grammar & Vocabulary: Consolidate parts of speech, verb tenses, sentence structure, phrases and clauses, modals, quantifiers, and expand vocabulary across thematic fields.
Throughout the course, language is practised through Cameroon-relevant themes and situations, helping learners communicate confidently in national and international circles. Form 3 lays the foundation for Form 4 and ultimately for the GCE O Level English Language syllabus.
