À propos de ce cours
This course delivers Lower Sixth ICT content built directly from the Cameroon GCE Board's official Advanced Level ICT Syllabus (Subject 796), designed to prepare candidates for a rapidly evolving global e-society, in line with leading end-user ICT certification programmes. It marks the first year of the two-year A-Level programme, examined through a single set of exams at the end of Upper Sixth.
This course focuses on the foundational sections a Lower Sixth student needs before moving into advanced applications: Section 1: Concepts of ICT — hardware, software, networks, everyday ICT applications, Information Systems, systems analysis and design (including the systems development life cycle), software design, and project management; Section 2: Using the Computer and Managing Files — operating system skills, file management, utilities like compression and disk clean-up, and print management; and Section 3: IT Security — data threats, malware, network and wireless security, secure web usage, safe communication, and secure data backup and destruction.
These foundational sections build the conceptual base that Upper Sixth then extends into advanced, exam-ready application skills — Advanced Word Processing, Advanced Spreadsheets, Advanced Database, and Advanced Presentation. This course is built for Lower Sixth students from any stream — Arts, Science, Technical-Commercial, or Technical-Industrial — starting the two-year GCE Advanced Level ICT programme, since the syllabus is designed to be accessible regardless of educational background.
