À propos de ce cours
This course delivers Lower Sixth Economics content built directly from the official Economics Syllabus for Secondary General Education (Lower and Upper Sixth Forms), published by Cameroon's Ministry of Secondary Education. It is the first year of the two-year GCE Advanced Level Economics programme, laying the analytical foundation the second year (Upper Sixth) builds on toward the exam.
The full syllabus is organised into nine compulsory modules developing a learner's ability to manage resources sustainably, organise and analyse markets, understand the distribution of factor rewards, appraise economic activity, and ultimately evaluate money, public finance, and Cameroon's place in the global economy. This course focuses on the entry-point modules Lower Sixth students work through first: understanding scarcity, choice, and the basic economic problem at an advanced level; how resources are allocated across different economic systems; how markets are organised, including demand, supply, price determination, elasticity, and market structures from perfect competition to monopoly; and how the factors of production — land, labour, capital, and enterprise — are rewarded through rent, wages, interest, and profit.
Each module follows the syllabus's Competency-Based Approach, with guided work, real calculations (elasticity, cost and revenue, market equilibrium), and project-based learning connected to real economic situations in Cameroon. The goal is to build the strong analytical base Upper Sixth then extends into national income, money and banking, public finance, and international trade — all leading toward the GCE Advanced Level Economics examination.
