À propos de ce cours
This course delivers Upper Sixth Economics content built directly from the official Economics Syllabus for Secondary General Education (Lower and Upper Sixth Forms), published by Cameroon's Ministry of Secondary Education. It is designed for students in their final year before sitting the GCE Advanced Level Economics examination.
The full two-year A-Level Economics programme is organised into nine compulsory modules, developing the learner's ability to manage resources sustainably, analyse market structures, understand the distribution of factor rewards, measure national income, manage financial operations and public finance, and evaluate Cameroon's place in the global economy. This course focuses on consolidating and applying that knowledge as students move through Upper Sixth: understanding the measurement and circulation of national income (GDP, GNP, NNP, the circular flow, the multiplier and accelerator), the dynamics of financial operations (money, banking, the role of BEAC as Cameroon's central bank), managing public finance (taxation, the national budget, public debt), the international economy (trade theory, balance of payments, exchange rates, regional and international economic institutions), and government economic and welfare policy (growth, development, unemployment, inflation, and population).
Each topic follows the syllabus's Competency-Based Approach, with guided work, practical exercises involving real calculations (national income, tax rates, exchange rates, elasticity), and project-based learning tied to real economic situations in Cameroon. The goal is to help Upper Sixth students consolidate the analytical, calculation, and essay-writing skills the GCE Advanced Level Economics examination demands, across both Paper 1 (objective/structured questions) and Paper 2 (essays).
