À propos de ce cours
This course introduces Form 1 students to English Language as part of Cameroon's official first-cycle Languages and Literature curriculum, following the Competency-Based Approach used across all first-cycle subjects. English Language sits within the Languages and Literature area of learning alongside French, Living Languages, and Literature, and is examined at the end of the first cycle as part of the GCE Ordinary Level.
As with every first-cycle subject, the syllabus is organized around real-life situations rather than abstract grammar drills, developing all four language skills — reading, writing, listening, and speaking — alongside grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation, with the explicit aim (shared across Cameroon's official language syllabi) of producing confident communicators able to use English competently in family, social, economic, and civic life. This course builds the foundation Form 1 students need to progress through the first cycle toward the GCE Ordinary Level English Language examination.
A note on this course's content: the specific module titles and topic sequence for Form 1 English Language are set out in the Ministry's official scheme of work, which I was unable to fully verify topic-by-topic from an accessible source. To keep this course accurately aligned rather than built on assumptions, I'd recommend confirming the exact module list against the official syllabus document or a current Form 1 English textbook approved for Cameroonian schools, before finalizing the lesson-by-lesson content.
