À propos de ce cours
This course delivers the complete Form 3 French programme as prescribed by Cameroon's Ministry of Secondary Education, following the official Programme de Français Deuxième Langue for Forms 3, 4 and 5. It is designed for Anglophone students learning French as their second official language, grounded in the constitutional principle that Cameroon is a bilingual nation.
The course is built around five life-situation modules of 15 hours each. Vie familiale et intégration sociale develops the language needed to interact with family and community — describing people, following instructions, and recounting family events, with the passé composé, imparfait, adjectives, and vocabulary of sympathy and antipathy. Environnement et santé covers describing the home, expressing illness and discomfort, and talking about hygiene, disease prevention, and environmental protection, introducing the futur simple and adverbs. Vie citoyenne et ouverture au monde builds vocabulary around administrative units, national symbols, travel, social conflicts, and modern technologies, with the gérondif and indefinite pronouns. Activités économiques et monde du travail teaches students to bargain, buy and sell, discuss trades and work obligations, using personal pronouns and compound sentences. Finally, Communication et TIC covers phone conversations, SMS and media vocabulary, and reporting on radio and television programmes.
Throughout, the course develops all four language skills — listening, speaking, reading, and writing — with a particular emphasis on oral expression, as the syllabus specifies. Students are introduced to description and narration in written work, and work through songs, role-plays, sketches, and dialogues that connect French to real situations in their daily lives. This course gives Form 3 students the foundation they'll need for Form 4 and Form 5, and ultimately for the GCE Ordinary Level French examination.
