À propos de ce cours
This course delivers Upper Sixth Geography content built directly from the official Cameroon GCE Advanced Level Geography Syllabus, which organises the subject into interconnected themes across Lower and Upper Sixth: Hydrology, Meteorology and Climatology, Geomorphology, Biogeography, Economic Activities, Population Geography, Settlement, and the Interrelationship Between Human Activities and the Environment — alongside a dedicated area on the Geography of Cameroon.
The course covers physical geography in depth: energy transfer processes in the atmosphere (convection and conduction), climate classification (including Tropical Continental and Tropical Monsoon climates), the hydrological cycle and drainage basins, river regimes and how Cameroon's climatic differences affect them, landforms produced at plate margins, weathering processes and their associated hazards, and the relief and diversity of landforms across regions like Cameroon's Western Highlands. It also covers biogeography, including soil-forming (pedogenic) processes such as ferrallitisation and calcification, and ecological concepts like food chains.
On the human geography side, the course addresses population geography, settlement patterns, and economic activities, with strong emphasis throughout on the interrelationship between human activity and the environment — including contemporary issues such as global warming, desertification, and environmental hazards and their mitigation. The Geography of Cameroon runs through the course as a dedicated focus area, since the syllabus places particular emphasis on using environmental assets for the country's human and economic development.
This course is built for Upper Sixth students consolidating the full two-year A-Level Geography syllabus in preparation for the GCE Advanced Level examination, which combines physical geography, human geography, and case-study-based analysis.
