À propos de ce cours
This course delivers the Form 1 Physics programme as prescribed by Cameroon's Ministry of Secondary Education's official Physics Teaching Syllabus for Forms 1 and 2, part of "The Sciences" within the Science and Technology area of learning. The syllabus is organized into modules covering six broad areas, confirmed by official progression sheets used in Cameroonian classrooms.
The course opens with The World of Science, introducing students to the basic equipment found in a science laboratory and the fundamentals of working safely and methodically as a young scientist. It then moves into Matter: Properties and Transformation, covering the states of matter and how substances change from one form to another — the foundation for all later physical science. The course continues with Energy, exploring the different forms energy takes and its everyday applications, before addressing Environmental Education, including real, locally relevant topics like the variation of rainfall across Cameroon's regions. The course closes with Technology, covering care and maintenance of equipment, basic repairs, technical drawing, and an introduction to basic telecommunication devices — connecting physics concepts to practical, hands-on skills.
Following the Competency-Based Approach used across Cameroon's secondary curriculum, each module is built around real-life situations, helping students understand that physics isn't abstract — it explains the equipment they use, the energy they consume, and the environment they live in. This course gives Form 1 students a strong, syllabus-aligned foundation for the Physics they'll continue through the rest of the first cycle, toward GCE Ordinary Level Physics.
